Yarrow began exploring energy in the 70’s utilizing at-hand knowledge of Native American traditions, awareness of life experiences and applying this knowledge to her own life. Her curiosity of energy evolved into the study and practice of Feng Shui after attending a private workshop in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Yarrow recognized instantly that Feng Shui is the energy work with which she resonates and sees immediate benefit when principles are applied.
Yarrow’s “sense of a wave” is exemplified by being in the forefront of new information. As an author, professional speaker, Feng Shui consultant and practitioner and workshop facilitator, she helps people forge creative lifestyles using unfamiliar concepts. Her free-lance writing and teaching synthesizes traditional thinking with creative living by weaving in spiritual Eastern thought with the anatomy of energy.

Yarrow is currently a Neighborhood Watch Captain who wrote a $5,000 grant proposal to Maryland Governor’s Crime Prevention & Control Office. Award money was used to re-claim neighborhood streets fraught with drug-related activities.
Yarrow’s Eastport garden received a “Maryland Bay-Wise Yardstick” plaque and certificate. She continues to apply Feng Shui principles to her garden, incorporating native plants and Bay-friendly practices.
Yarrow has also supported the local Annapolis Afghan Women’s Fund by writing grants to support the work of Fahima Vorgetts, an Afghani whose personal mission is to rebuild schools, provide vocational training for widows, orphans and children.
In 1986, Yarrow founded the Malvern Preparatory School Garden Guild. Over 64 women continue the guild’s mission to create, restore and maintain gardens on the school’s historic property. |
